Whether holders of travel documents for foreigners and refugees should be granted a direct transit visa (DATV) depends on their nationality of origin and eligibility for one of the above exceptions. Persons recognized as stateless under the 1954 United Nations Convention on the Status of Stateless Persons are not required to possess a DATV and can take flight without a visa. You may be asked to leave the UK within 60 days if your employment is terminated prematurely. It is unlikely that you will have to leave if your visa stays less than 60 days. There is currently no need for a European visa exemption for British citizens. UK citizens can move freely and even work in other countries in the region. All they have to do is present their British passport to enter any EU country. If the passenger has a refugee travel document issued by the United Kingdom, he does not need a visa. If the passenger has another refugee travel or travel document, he or she needs a visa to enter the UK. On 13 March 2014, the British government announced that Venezuelan citizens (including those with biometric passports) would need a visa to enter the UK as of 5 May 2014.
  Electronic visas or electronic residence permits are not acceptable for air transit unless the airline is able to verify this with the country of issue. Syrian nationals holding a U.S. B1/B2 visa are not exempt. ETIAS will be a visa exemption, which means it will prevent angry travellers from obtaining traditional Schengen visas. Irish citizens are not required to apply for a visa or an EU settlement system. When a visa national has permanent residence in the UK, he does not need a visa as long as he returns to the UK within 2 years of their last departure. On 1 January 2014, an electronic visa-free system (EVW) was set up to allow citizens of Oman, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates who have obtained an online import authorization to visit and/or study without a visa in the UK for up to 6 months;  with Kuwait in February 2016.  When a British person travels to a Schengen country without exemption from the ETIAS visa requirement, he or she is not allowed to enter the country.
The EU has said the decision to allow a passenger to transit without a visa (TWOV) under the scheme is made by an immigration official at the UK border. On April 9, 2020, the Ministry of the Interior adopted a new immigration rule, which limits low-skilled workers to visa restrictions from January 2021.
